QUI TAM & FALSE CLAIMS ACT
The federal False Claims Acts ("FCA") allows an individual known as a "qui tam" plaintiff to sue, on behalf of the government, corporations or individuals who commit fraud involving U.S. government programs. The FCA allows the qui tam plaintiff to recover a percentage of any monies awarded (typically 15-25%).
Our office has handled a number of both state (California) and federal FCA matters to completion, including the successful appeal in the matter of U.S. ex. rel. Ali vs. Daniel, Mann, Johnson & Mendenhall, 355 F. 3rd 1140 (9th Cir. 2004).

Mr Brown has over 40 years of litigation and jury trial and appellate experience in both State and Federal courts, with an emphasis on Labor & Employment Law and Business Litigation matters. Our offices specializes in matters involving discrimination and retaliation, wrongful termination and harassment. While our office has resolved many cases through settlement or mediation, our office does not hesitate to take a case to trial. Located in Orange County, California our office handles throughout the state, including Los Angeles, San Diego, and the Inland Empire.

Recently, Mr. Brown was lead counsel representing Plaintiff Shirin Buckman in a FMLA/CFRA retaliation case against the City of Los Angeles which resulted in an award to Plaintiff of damages totaling over $1,200,000.00, which included emotional distress damages, and expert witness and attorney's fees. (Buckman vs. City of Los Angeles, LASC Case No. BC 697003).
